A new study lead by Professor Pessequé in the Center of Regeneration at UCSF identified a family of cells called multipotent progenitors (MPPs). This cells are the first cells coming from bone marrow-derived stem cells and the possibility to manipulate them could provide a solution to overcome the deficiencies in blood cells in cases of disease or aging.
